State Bank of Saurashtra
State Bank of Saurashtra (SBS) was an associate bank of State Bank of India under Subsidiary Banks Act 1959 from the year of 1960. State Bank of Saurashtra merged into State Bank of India on 13th August, 2008.

State Bank of Saurashtra Head Office:

Head Office of State Bank of Saurashtra was located at Nilambaug Chowk, Bhavnagar (Gujarat).

State Bank of Saurashtra Branches:

State Bank of Saurashtra had total 423 branches over 15 states and the Union Territory of Daman and Diu at the time of merger.

State Bank of Saurashtra Recruitment 2015:

There is no recruitment for State Bank of Saurashtra after the merger. Employee of SBS has joined SBI after the merger.

History of State Bank of Saurashtra:

Region of Saurashtra is the part of Gujarat State after 1948. The region had many small, medium and large princely states. Bhavnagar Darbar Bank was established in 1902 to serve the needs of the governments of their respective princely state.

The Bhavnagar Darbar Bank became the State Bank of Saurashtra by the amalgamation ordinance 1950 under the Saurashtra State Bank along with the four Darbar Banks - Rajkot State Bank, Porbandar State Bank, Palitana Darbar Bank and Vadia State Bank. These banks merged from 1 July, 1950.

State Bank of Saurashtra became a subsidiary bank of SBI in 1960. Finally, State Bank of Saurashtra merged into SBI on 13th August, 2008 after approval of the government and Reserve Bank in accordance with State Bank of India Act, 1955. The Bank had only 9 branches and deposits of Rs. 7 crores in 1950.
