Joint Entrance Screening Test 2012 (JEST 2012) is a common entrance qualifying test for the admission to the Ph.D. Programmes in Physics. JEST 2012 is conducted for admission in Physics for Ph.D. Programmes in the research institutions in India and Theoretical Computer Science in some of them.

JEST 2012 Eligibility Criteria:

For Physics:

Applicants should have degree of M. Sc. in Physics or M. Sc./M.E./M.Tech. in related disciplines to apply for JEST 2012.

Applicants with M.Sc. in Mathematics / Applied Physics / Applied Mathematics / Optics and Photonics / Instrumentation / Electronics may also be considered for at IIA through www.jest.org.in 2012.

Students with B.E. or B.Tech degree can be considered for IISc, IMSc, IUCAA, JNCASR, NCRA-TIFR RRI, IISER Mohali, IISER Pune, IISER Thiruvananthapuram and SNBNCBS through Joint Entrance Screening Test 2012.

Students of talented final year B.Sc. and first year M.Sc. in Physics / Electronics / Astronomy / Applied Mathematics may apply online to be a part of pre-selected for research scholarship at IUCAA through JEST 2012.

Candidates with M. Sc in Physics, Engineering Physics or Applied Physics may also be considered for IPR through www.jest.org.in 2012.

For Theoretical Computer Science:

Candidates with M.Sc./ M.E. / M.Tech. / M.C.A. in Computer Science and related disciplines may be considered for Theoretical Computer Science through JEST 2012.

For Integrated M.Sc. / M.Tech - Ph.D Programme:

Candidates with Bachelor's degree of HRI, IISER-Pune, SNBNCBS, and NCRA-TIFR may be considered for the integrated M.Sc., Ph.D. programme in Physics through www.jest.org.in 2012.

How to Apply:

You may apply for JEST 2012 either by online application form or by ordinary post.

Offline Application Form:

Send the completed form to “JEST 2012, Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore 560012” in the prescribed format. Offline application is closed now.

You must create an account visiting: http://www.jest.org.in/user/register using a valid E-mail ID to apply online for Joint Entrance Screening Test 2012. Candidates will get a unique submission number after online registration.

JEST 2012 Admit Card:

JEST 2012 Admit card will be made available to the eligible candidates before written exam. Candidates may download JEST Admit card 2012 visiting www.jest.org.in. Candidates must carry JEST 2012 Admit card during written test along with other necessary documents.

JEST 2012 Results:

JEST 2012 results will be deciding factor of admission in the institutions. Participating institutes will use JEST 2012 result to call a limited number of candidates for its own selection procedure depending on the requirement.
