Air Force Common Admission Test 2012 (AFCAT 2012) Application Forms are invited from eligible men and women candidates for the courses commencing January 2013 and July 2013.

AFCAT 2012 Courses for Men:

  • Flying Branch: (No. 11 Short Service Commission Course (11 SSC))
  • Technical Branch: (No. 82 Aeronautical Engineers Course (82 AEC) (Permanent Commission), No. 54 Short Service Commission Course (54 SSC) and University Entry Scheme (UES – 2013) (Permanent Commission))
  • Ground Duty Branches: (No. 133 Ground Duty Officers’ Course (133 GDOC) (Permanent Commission) and No. 26 Short Service Commission Course (26 SSC))

AFCAT 2012 Courses for Women:

  • Flying Branch: (No. 40 Short Service Commission Course (Women) {40 SSC (W)})
  • Technical Branch: (No. 54 Short Service Commission Course (Women) {54 SSC (W)})
  • Ground Duty Branches (No. 42 Short Service Commission Course (Women) {42 SSC (W)})

AFCAT 2012 Notification for Men:

Air Force Common Admission Test 2012 applications are invited from male Indian citizens as per Citizenship Act 1955 for the courses Flying Branch, Technical and Ground Duty Branches.

AFCAT 2012 Eligibility Criteria:

For Flying Branch:

Age: 19 to 23 years as on 1st January, 2013 (born between 2nd January 1990 and 1st January, 1994)

Educational Qualification: Candidates should have bachelor degree with minimum 60 marks in aggregate in all papers put together along with math and physics at 10+2 level or B.E./B. Tech degree from a recognized university with minimum 60% marks in aggregate in all papers put together to apply for AFCAT 2012.

Physical Standard:

Candidates should have minimum height: 162.5 cms with correlated weight, minimum leg length: 99 cms and maximum 120 cms, maximum thigh length: 64 cms, minimum sitting height: 81.5 cms and maximum: 96 cms to apply for AFCAT 2012.

For Technical Branch:

Age: 18 to 28 years as on 1st January, 2013 (born between 2nd January 1985 and 1st January, 1995)

Educational Qualification: candidates should have degree of Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) {AE (L)} or Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) {AE (M)} to apply for AFCAT 2012.

For Ground Duty Branches:

Qualification – Age – Born Between (Both Date Inclusive)

  • For Graduates – 20 to 23 years – 2nd January 1990 to 1st January 1993
  • For Post Graduates/LLB (5 years integrated courses) – 20 to 25 years – 2nd January 1988 to 1st January 1993
  • For LLB (3 years course after graduation) – 20 to 26 years – 2nd January 1987 to 1st January 1993
  • For M. Ed/ Ph.D/CA/ICWA – 20 to 27 years – 2nd January 1986 to 1st January 1993

Physical Standards: minimum height: 157.5 cms with correlated weight

AFCAT 2012 Notification for Women:

AFCAT 2012 Exam Date:

AFCAT exam date has been scheduled on 26th February, 2012. AFCAT exam date 2012 and other details about written exam can seen on the AFCAT admit card also.

AFCAT Exam Pattern:

AFCAT exam pattern will be based on the test of verbal ability, numerical ability, reasoning, general awareness and aptitude. AFCAT exam will be of 2 hours duration.

Qualified candidates in Air Force Common Admission Test 2012 will be called for further formalities and tests at one of the Air Force Selection Boards (AFSBs) – Dehradun, Mysore or Varanasi.

How to Apply for AFCAT 2012:

Eligible candidates are asked to fill the AFCAT 2012 Application Form in the prescribed format and send to the AFCAT centres.

AFCAT Admit Card:

AFCAT admit card 2012 download will be made available through official website of IAF Career Official Website. Eligible candidates must carry AFCAT admit card during written test along with ID proof.

  • Last Date of Receiving AFCAT 2012 Application Form: 13th January, 2012
