History of Corporation Bank:
Corporation Bank came into light as Canara Banking Corporation Limited as on 12th March, 1906. The Bank opened its first branch at Kundapur in 1923 and second in Mangalore in 1926. Corporation Bank got the position of the second schedule of Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934 in 1937.
Canara Banking Corporation Ltd. changed into Canara Banking Corporation Ltd. in 1939. Finally, Canara Banking Corporation Ltd. changed into Corporation Bank Limited in 1972 and later as Corporation Bank on 15th April, 1980.
